Shannon started working at CMU: in 2000 In her previous life she: received a B.F.A. in theatre and then completed her masters in Communications here at CMU. She began teaching at the university in the speech department five years ago, and in 2002 became the academic advisor for Teacher Education. Her hobbies and life passions are: writing, theatre, storytelling and social activism.
