Attendance Policy

You are required to attend your midtier field work at your scheduled day and time.  You may prearrange a change to your midtier schedule not more than two times during the course of the semester.  The reason for a prearranged schedule change may include illness, car problem, a previously scheduled appointment or other emergency.  Missing two or more scheduled times/days during your field experience will result in an immediate review of your fieldwork with the possibility of removal from your midtier field experience.  After two midtier schedule changes, a meeting with the midtier coordinator must be scheduled before your field work can continue.

Days and times rescheduled by your host teacher or school, does not apply to this policy.  Snow days, professional development days or the host teacher requesting a change will not count against this attendance policy.

Failure to notify the midtier coordinator of your third rescheduled time may result in immediate removal from your midtier field experience.  You must report any scheduled change that exceeds two times.

Host teachers are asked to notify the midtier office of any student requesting more than two changes in scheduled visits.

Consistency, promptness and professional attire is expected at all times while completing hours at your host school.  Not showing up for a scheduled visit without prior notification by telephone (email is not acceptable) to your host teacher will result in an immediate removal from your midtier field experience.
