Dr. Gilbert guided the launching and subsequent development of the Doctor of Education (Ed. D.) degree in Educational Leadership, based upon his experience of coordinating doctoral studies at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. He has supervised many dissertations and theses over the years.
His teaching responsibilities include:
- EDL 662: School Business Administration and Facilities Management
- EDL 663: Personnel Administration
- EDL 685: Introduction to Problem Solving in Educational Leadership
- EDL 775: Educational Policy Analysis
- EDL 885: Problem Solving in Educational Leadership
- EDL 899: Doctoral Seminar
