Higher Education Administration
An emphasis in higher education administration provides students with a broad-based background in issues necessary for entry-level leadership positions in colleges and universities. There are opportunities to practice acquired skills through practical internships and research.
Program Requirements

- EDL 600 (3) Research in Administration
- EDL 660 (3) Principles of Educational Administration
- Emphasis Area (15 hours)
- EDL 636 (3) Higher Education Law
- EDL 763 (3) Personnel Administration in Higher Education
- EDL 764 (3) Financing of Higher Education
- EDL 776 (3) Administration of Higher Education
- Plus 3 hours EDL electives determined in consultation with advisor
- Additional Courses (6 hours)
- Selected in consultation with advisor
- Capstone Project (6 hours) Select either Plan A or Plan B:
- EDL 798 (6) Thesis – completion of a thesis, including an oral examination of the thesis.
- EDL 698 (3) Master’s Colloquium
- EDL 699 (3) Administrative Internship
