- HDF 609 Human Growth and Development: Current Issues (3 credit hours)
- HDF 615 Theoretical Approaches to Family Processes (3 credit hours)
- HDF 786 Occupational Field Experience (3 credit hours)
- HDF 597 Applied Research Methods (3 credit hours)
II. Electives (9 credit hours)

III. Plan A or B options
Plan A: Thesis
HDF 798 (6 credits) and an oral examination on material on the thesis topic.
Plan B: Non-Thesis
Electives (6 credits) to be selected in consultation with adviser.
A written and an oral examination on material in the field of specialization, and two major papers acceptable to the student's Graduate Program Committee.
Total Credits in the HDFS Graduate Program: 36 credit hours
