We
welcome your interest in Central Michigan University’s Human Growth and
Development Laboratory.
All of our programs are licensed by the State of Michigan and are
accredited through the National Academy of Early Childhood Programs of the
National Association for the Education of Young Children. Currently we offer
four different program options.
The Human Growth and Development Laboratory (HGDL) is located on the campus of
Central Michigan University, within and adjacent to Wightman Hall. The
HGDL is a training/research program with direct ties to the Department of Human
Environmental Studies (HEV).
Throughout each semester, a variety of CMU students participate in
classroom and individual activities through various assignments given in their
college courses.
Most of these students are completing degrees in child development,
elementary education, special education, communication disorders, family
studies, physical or occupational therapy, and nutrition.
